Karine Detcheverry

Karine Detcheverry was born in Quebec (Canada) and moved to the south of France in 2006, where she now works as an artist between France and Canada. She began her artistic career as a film art director and set designer in Montreal. She continued her studies in Denmark at the European Film College, specialising in innovation and new media, before completing her training at the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture in Montpellier.
Since then, she has developed an artistic approach based on the use of mixed techniques, manipulating a variety of materials such as glass, concrete, steel and acrylic. Her work, often commissioned by private and public bodies, has been exhibited nationally and internationally. She is particularly renowned for her works in relief, capturing movement and light by fusing elements of figuration and abstraction.
